The Campra Nordic Center was founded in the 1960s on the initiative of the Simano Ski Club (SCS), an association of cross-country skiers from the former municipalities of Dangio, Torre and Aquila (now districts of the Blenio municipality). Campra in fact offered all the environmental characteristics to practice the discipline at a competitive level. Given the growing interest of the population in amateur cross-country skiing, the SCS built the first reception facilities: restaurant, locker rooms, gymnasium, dormitories and, of course, the ski slopes.

With the passage of time, the need was felt to provide a modern guest accommodation facility. With decisive help from the Canton of Ticino, the federal government, the Blenio municipality, and other supporters from both the public and private sectors, the Campra Alpine Lodge & SPA was built in 2016. This offering has expanded the attractiveness of the year-round tourist destination of Campra.

The Swiss Cross-Country Ski School enriches the offer of the tourist destination during the winter period. Under the guidance of experienced monitors, all those interested can acquire the technical basis for the practice of this wonderful sport.
